The Story

Not all threaded inserts are created equal!

RAMPA inserts are the original and the best. Precision-machined in Germany to exacting standards, they are the professionals’ choice for a huge range of joinery applications. RAMPA inserts have the highest possible pull-out values in various woods, wood-based materials and thermoplastics.

With their unthreaded lead and patented 3-start external thread, these inserts go in straight and vertical every time. Unflanged inserts can be installed flush with the surface.

These inserts require a 12 or 12.5mm pilot hole and an 8mm hex drive (Allen key).

Who is RAMPA?

RAMPA are most well-known as the inventors of the now-ubiquitous threaded insert connector.

Over 100 years ago, Hermann Brügmann, together with his son Hans Hermann Nicolaus Brügmann, started a carpentry business in Hamburg-Bergedorf, Germany. Father and son continually asked themselves whether it was possible to develop a connecting piece for two wooden elements that would allow a connection that could be detached over and over again. They set out to find an answer. A short time later H. H. Nicolaus Brügmann developed the first RAMPA insert. He named it the A-insert and applied for a patent in 1910.

Today, they are still family-owned and operated, proudly manufacturing a range of high-performance solutions for wood, plastics, metals and concrete.
