The Story

Spacious. Simple. Seriously Tough.

Pressed from a single sheet of steel, it features seamless curves and a rugged baked enamel finish — built to withstand the knocks of the workshop while looking right at home on your bench. Its deeper body and full-width handle make it ideal for storing bulkier tools like hand planes, spokeshaves, chisels, and sharpening kits. The pressed-steel construction and durable powder-coated finish ensure it can handle years of real-world workshop use — from benchtop to backseat.

Flat-topped with a comfortable rounded handle, it closes securely with two latches and can be locked shut with a 4mm padlock (or two). It can be stacked, or stored on its narrow edge.

From hand-tool woodworkers to mobile tradespeople, the Toyo Steel 36cm Toolbox delivers dependable storage with minimalist elegance. It’s not just a toolbox — it’s a statement of craftsmanship.

Who is Toyo Steel?

In 1969, Toyo Steel introduced the world’s first seamless toolbox made from a single sheet of steel. More than fifty years later, their toolboxes are still made in Osaka Japan and have reached a worldwide audience. Their understated aesthetic has found them appreciated by such bastions of style as New York’s MoMA.

Toyo products are meant to be used for years. Their designs and materials are carefully selected so that the toolbox ages gracefully, developing an attractive patina while still protecting its contents. This durability and toughness is not only economical, it also reduces waste and contributes to a more sustainable environment.
